Famine warning: Somalia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Yemen

Famine warning: how you can help save lives

Together we must #UniteAgainstFamine. Lives depend on it.

By Action Against Hunger

Mar 17 2017

Over a million children are at imminent risk of dying from life-threatening hunger across Nigeria, Somalia, Yemen and South Sudan.

Without immediate help, they risk dying of hunger. Famine has been officially declared in South Sudan - the first famine anywhere in the world since 2011. But South Sudan is not the only country facing a catastrophe. The children of Somalia, Yemen and Nigeria are at risk of famine too.

Action Against Hunger – helping families in these countries for many years - is there, racing against the clock to save children’s lives.

But needs are immense and we need to reach more children. With your help, we can get lifesaving treatment to children in urgent need.

"I have been a proud ambassador of Action Against Hunger for many years.

The developing famine in Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia and Nigeria is putting the lives of more than 1 million children in severe danger.

On Tuesday 21st March, I will be donating the cost of my lunch to Action Against Hunger, and I hope you will do the same."
