Two severe earthquakes have struck Venezuelan communities in the North and near the capital.

Hundreds of people have lost their lives already and more are injured. Loss of life is expected to be in the tens of thousands. Our teams in Venezuela are assessing the situation right now.

In 2025, we responded to 71 emergencies across the world, including earthquakes in the Philippines and Myanmar, saving lives with urgent aid.

We’ve been working in Venezuela since 2018. Last year, we supported Venezuela communities with:

  • access to healthcare, food, clean water and sanitation
  • specialist support for women and girls
  • hygiene programmes to promote public health.

Please donate to our emergency fund to support our response to the earthquake in Venezuela. You could save lives.

How we've responded to previous earthquakes

Emergency humanitarian aid

Action Against Hunger staff meet the local community at a mosque destroyed by the earthquakes in Myanmar.

When a powerful earthquake hit Myanmar in 2025, our teams were ready to respond. We launched an immediate emergency response distributing food baskets, hygiene kits, and healthcare.

Your donation now can help our teams give similar support to families caught up in the recent earthquake in Venezuela.

Resilience building and support

The destruction caused by Typhoon Rai in southern Leyte, Philippines.

The Philippines was hit by two earthquakes at the end of last year. We helped communities recover and prepare for future crises, supporting over 106,000 people through our food security, hygiene and protection programmes.

Please make an emergency donation to ensure Venezuelan communities get the same expertise and support following the recent earthquake.

Reaching vulnerable communities

Teams distributing earthquake aid in Afghanistan.

In August 2025, an earthquake of over 6 on the Richter scale struck Afghanistan. Families lost their homes and communities were badly damaged. Our teams made sure life-saving supplies reached vulnerable communities and children.

Donate now to help us reach vulnerable people and children in Venezuela following the earthquake.

Our work in Venezuela

Our teams have been working in Venezuela since 2018. In 2025, we reached 77,704 people in Venezuela, improving access to:

  • healthcare
  • healthy food
  • water and sanitation

  • resilience building for future emergencies.
