Why world hunger matters

Global hunger is rising fast, driven by factors like conflict, climate change and inequality.

The urgency is real. The numbers are rising. And the longer we wait, the harder it gets.

Broken systems keep people hungry. And often the most vulnerable are paying the price. When children don’t have enough food, their brains and bodies suffer. It stops them growing, learning and working. It locks them and their families in a life of poverty.

And left too long, hunger kills.

Together, we can end world hunger for good

Change is hard, but possible.

Between 1990 and 2015, we halved global malnutrition. That didn’t happen by accident. It happened because people, governments and organisations acted together.

Progress is achievable. We’ve reversed hunger trends before. And if we all raise our voices and come together to take action, we can do it again.
