Thankathon

Thanks to your help in 2025, families around the world accessed support that protected their health, strengthened their communities and enriched their lives - even in places that rarely make headlines.

We're sharing with you a snapshot of the difference your support has made over the past year. Every story is part of something bigger: sustainable support that helps people not only survive, but build a brighter and healthier future for themselves and their community.

Thanks to you, we’re running long-term programmes in 57 countries across the globe. We’re so grateful you were part of our 2025 journey – so we’ve shared our thanks in our Thankathon video:

How women led change in 2025

Around the world, and thanks to your continued commitment, women are leading real change in their communities - as health workers, farmers, caregivers and more.

Mental health support in Afghanistan

You're helping train women like Raihana, a hotline psychologist, who gives consultations at Action Against Hunger's hotline centre in Afghanistan.

A woman who received support shares:
"Before, my condition was very bad and I did not feel good. It has changed a lot. I am happier and have a good relationship with my family."

Improving food security in Nigeria

In Nigeria, women are strengthening their families' food security through farming and small businesses.

Thanks to your support, women are receiving cash grants and training to invest in livestock and livelihoods of their choice - creating more stable incomes and nutritious food for their households.

Safe water access in Pakistan

Women and girls in Pakistan are often responsible for collecting water for their families, even when it's unsafe.

Your gifts help women like Rukhsana, a community member and Disaster Response Team member, improve access to clean water that families can drink, cook and clean with - helping them secure their health.

How you drove change on global hunger

Last year, you joined us in calling on governments to take global hunger seriously.

In March 2025, our advocacy team attended the Nutrition for Growth Summit - where global leaders came together to take action on global malnutrition.

Ahead of the summit, we also met with parliamentarians to help push nutrition higher on the agenda and amplify the voices of the communities we work with.

In the lead-up, supporters like you donated, wrote to David Lammy, then Foreign Secretary, and signed our petition demanding action.

It's thanks to your commitment that we can keep ensuring global hunger and nutrition are raised directly with those in power.

How you helped communities in 2025

Your regular support in 2025 helped communities access practical training, vital services and long-term support. Explore some of the programmes made possible by your support.

Youth programmes in Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to political instability and climate shocks. Your support is helping young people - including those displaced by violence - gain practical skills and prepare for their futures.

Kroussoube, who's training in sewing at a training centre we support, shares:
"As well as sewing, we do gardening and sow peanuts. My wish is to open my own workshop to teach trade to other people"

Awareness training in Côte D’Ivoire

Community-led awareness sessions in Côte D’Ivoire are helping families improve their health and nutrition.

Local mobilisers like Emmanuel are supporting communities to strengthen their livelihoods and get better access to social services.

Emmanuel shares:
"We have seen a big change in children in the community and parents that have had education through good practices."

Baby friendly spaces in Gaza

Last year In Gaza, children were most at risk of malnutrition, while their caregivers experienced extreme stress and little access to healthcare.

We helped provide baby friendly spaces in Gaza - safe environments giving specialised support.

A Nutrition Officer working in Gaza shared:
"Services include peer support and group psychosocial support sessions. Recreational activities consist of games for children, offering different options such as drawing."
