On Wednesday August 26, the bursting of a lake triggered a devastating flood in Nepal.
Initial reports indicate 180 dead and more than 1,300 missing in Tibet and Nepal.
But given the images and the scale of the disaster, we fear a dramatic rise in people affected.
Water infrastructure has been swept away, leaving Nepalese families without clean water. And because the disaster has struck during harvest season, a food crisis could follow.
Our teams are mobilising quickly and are assessing how they can support Nepalese communities.
Survivors will be lacking everything, from food and water to shelter, cooking supplies, and medical care.
