Two violent earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria on Monday 6 February 2023.

The outcome has been devastating, with reports of over 41,000 deaths and thousands more people injured. And this number is set to increase.

Families have lost everything. The disaster has destroyed homes and shattered countless lives.

Temperatures are currently plummeting, and snow is set to fall in the affected areas. The most vulnerable people have now been left without shelter. We need to act quickly.

An Action Against Hunger staff member analyses the damage after the earthquake in Syria.

  • delivering urgent medical care
  • providing emergency shelters so people have a safe place to stay
  • re-establishing clean water supplies to stop diseases like cholera spreading
  • setting up mother-baby friendly spaces
