Action Against Hunger strategy 2025-2030

This strategy guides us at a pivotal time. We're led by our vision, which has not changed: a world free from hunger, and by our unwavering commitment to the humanitarian principles.

Action Against Hunger UK is no stranger to working within adversity and complexity, yet this strategic period begins in one of the toughest operating contexts our sector has seen. Slashed global aid budgets, including to UK aid and the collapse of USAID, has brought our sector to a reckoning.

Within the global Action Against Hunger network, we will strive to identify and mitigate the causes and drivers of hunger crises, and to build the resilience of communities before disasters strike. From implementing nutrition programming to scaling up local response to emergencies, we must work with local authorities and alongside communities to achieve these goals, putting them at the centre of decisions that impact them.

We must also rebuild trust in UK aid and development. At the time of writing, the UK government had reduced its commitment to aid by almost 40% by 2027. International aid can be life-saving for the communities it supports; it is also a critical tool for global security in the face of escalating global conflict and crisis.
