You can change a child’s life.

For children like Munira, hunger can be deadly. In fact, malnutrition is one of the leading causes of death for children under 5 – and sadly it’s on the rise. Rising global food prices, conflict and the climate crisis, means more and more children aren’t getting the food they need. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Treating malnutrition is cheap and effective – and it takes as little as six weeks. With special nutrient-packed peanut paste, expert care and support at our feeding centres children can make a full recovery.

Will you join thousands of others and stop life-threatening hunger in its tracks?

We know exactly how to help babies and children recover from malnutrition – but we can’t do it without your help. A small gift each month means we can reach and help more children like Munira. So they can grow up healthy, happy and strong. Please sign up today.

Action Against Hunger Ethiopia helped Munira recover from life-threatening malnutrition.

Munira’s story

When 18-month-old Munira became sick, her mother did everything she could to get her the treatment she needed. As soon as she heard of Action Against Hunger’s malnutrition treatment programme their lives changed for the better.

“The Action Against Hunger staff checked her weight and gave me therapeutic food to give to her three times a day,” says Medina. “I noticed her body was getting thicker. I was so so happy.”

Who are Action Against Hunger?

Life-threatening hunger is predictable, preventable and treatable, so a world without it is possible.

We tackle it where it hits and stop it. Whenever and wherever people need our help.

More than that, we work to prevent it in the first place by leading research that will create a world free from hunger. Forever.

How do we do this?

  • We train parents and healthcare workers to spot the first signs of malnutrition.
  • We deliver life-saving care to people who need it.
  • We lead research to drive forward understanding of how to predict, prevent and treat life-threatening hunger.

Why your support matters

Action Against Hunger treat more malnourished children than any other charity. We won’t give up until the world is free from hunger, but many more children need our help.

With your support, we can:

  • ensure access to healthy, nutritious food
  • provide clean water, good hygiene and health services
  • train more community health workers to treat malnourished children
  • inform more families about how to stay healthy and prevent more children from dying
  • provide emergency support to families fleeing conflict

Life-saving treatments are cheaply available and extremely effective. Right now, children and babies need your help. Please donate today.
