The number of civilian victims continues to rise. And the violence doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. A catastrophic humanitarian crisis is unfolding before us.

The UN has now declared that areas of Gaza are now facing catastrophic levels of hunger. There’s a high risk of famine.

The conflict has left over 2 million people without access to clean water, food, medicine and energy. Virtually every family in Gaza is skipping meals every day.

With the Rafah border crossing open, some aid trucks are entering into Gaza. But this isn’t enough. The small amount of aid coming into Gaza doesn’t meet the great humanitarian need.

The crisis in Gaza

  • 1.9M

At least 1.9 million people have been displaced from their homes in Gaza.

  • 1 in 4

25% of households in Gaza now face starvation.

  • 338,820

Since the conflict started, Action Against Hunger's work has reached almost 340,000 people in Gaza.

How is Action Against Hunger responding?

So far, we’ve been able to:

  • distribute over 1 million litres of drinking water
  • build 30 latrines and handwashing stations
  • give hygiene kits to over 95,000 people
  • distribute over 19,000 food baskets
  • provide a cleaning service in shelters for people fleeing their homes

As soon as there is a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, we’ll be ready to scale up our emergency response. Any money raised will help us to deliver vital aid as quickly as possible.

A humanitarian crisis is unfolding

Thousands of lives are at risk as violence escalates in Gaza.
