Nom Nom Nom 2012

The Event

For the 5th year, Nom Nom Nom 2012 returned to the Cookery School on Little Portland Street. On Sunday 8th July teams of bloggers went head-to-head to cook a 3 course meal in a Masterchef-style cook-off! All in front of a panel of formidable judges: this year we had no less than Rosalind Rathouse - Cookery School's Principal, Anna Hansen of the Modern Pantry, Martin Morales from Peruvian Ceviche Restaurant, eco-chef Tom Hunt of the Forgotten Feast, Francesco Mazzei of L'Anima and last but not least Bill Knott, revered food critic of FT's How to Spend It.

To coincide with this year's London Olympics, teams proudly took part with food from their home countries. We had fabulous global representation of cuisines, from Singapore to the Indian sub-continent to the good ol' U.S. of A!

The Cook-Off Results

The day was incredible and completely exceeded everyone's expectations with the array of food that the contestants cooked up! We are very happy to congratulate these deserving winners:

1st Place:

Chorizo Chicas AKA Victoria Glass (Alphabet Soup) with last minute help from Rosana McPhee (Hot & Chilli)

2nd Place:

Singply Singsational AKA Leigh Koh-Peart (Craft Cakes) and Goz (+65 Plusixfive)

3rd Place:

Gujerati Girls AKA Urvashi Roe (Gujerati Girl) and Meena Bhana (Chai Lounge)

4th Place:

Team America AKA Bex Williams (Hold the Anchovies Please) and Linds Harrison (Blonde vs Bland)

We'd also like to thank all teams who took part in the competition. With all the talent in the room this was by no means an easy challenge! For a full list of finalists visit http://www.nomnomnom.co.uk/p/2012-finalists.html

Foodie Fundraising Raffle

There is also an online raffle with fantastic foodie prizes open to everyone to participate in. At only £10 each, you could be in the running for a professional knife set, a barista training session, tea hampers, state-of-the-art food processors and many more! The raffle stays open for a month after the cook-off, and all proceeds go to Action Against Hunger's life-saving programme work.

Visit www.justgiving.com/Nom-Nom-Nom-2012 to get your raffle tickets now!

Viewers Choice Award

That's not all! Everyone will soon be given the chance to vote online for their favourite team. All bloggers will write up on their experiences of the competition so you be the judge on who should be Viewer's Choice! Click here on week beginning 23rd July 2012 to vote!

 Thank you to our Sponsors

Love Food Give Food would like to thank all participating judges, prize & goodie bag sponsors, Cookery School and social media guru Annie Mole for their incredible efforts in making Nom Nom Nom 2012 happen!
