Sudan

Civil unrest and political uncertainty has exacerbated the country’s ongoing economic crisis.

Sudan, an extremely vulnerable country, depends on international aid to guarantee basic services to the population.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, various conflicts and the worst floods in decades have worsened a fragile situation.

Rising food prices have increased already high levels of life-threatening hunger, with 38.2% of children under five suffering from malnutrition.

Sudan now hosts over one million refugees, mostly from neighbouring South Sudan. Many live in camps without access to basic services such as food, clean water and safe toilets.
