Isle of Wight Challenge 2018
Dates: 5th-6th May 2018
Main Start Location: Chale Recreation Ground, Military Road, Isle of Wight, PO38 2JF, United Kingdom
Great challenges need great settings and none get much better than the Isle of Wight's stunning coastal path. Past the famous Needles, Cowes at half way, on and right around the Island for a full 106km - with spectacular coastlines, dramatic white cliffs, sandy beaches and many ups & downs enroute. Most of the 2,000 challengers will walk at a pace that suits them, some will jog parts, and quite a few will run the whole course ultra marathon style. All will have special reasons for taking it on all will experience a test of determination and stamina with full support all the way to the finish line. It's tough, but achievable, and highly rewarding.
So why not start a journey get fitter, push yourself join us for a real challenge and an unforgettable Bank Holiday weekend! There's half & quarter distance options also with a challenge base camp for those who are up for camping before they set off. You can join as an Individual or as a Team and with some training and determination, anyone can take on the Isle of Wight. Push yourself in 2017 and take on a real challenge for Action Against Hunger.
Quarter Island Challenge
The Quarter Island options are two 25km routes and are great for your first Isle of Wight Challenge. You can take on the First Quarter starting on Saturday 5th May 2018 going from Chale to the Needles or the Fouth Quarter on Sunday 6th May 2018 from Culver Down to Chale.
£40 Registration Fee and £175 Minimum Sponsorship Target
Half Island Challenge
The Half Island options are two 50km routes on Saturday 5th May 2018. You can either go from Chale to Cowes or from Cowes to Chale.
£60 Registration Fee and £275 Minimum Sponsorship Target
Full Island Challenge
The Full 106km clockwise circular route from Chale to Chale can be challenged in two different ways. Both start early on Saturday 5th May 2018, the first is the continuous option and the other is the two-day option where you camp overnight after completing the first 50km and continue early on the Sunday morning.
£80 Registration Fee and £425 Minimum Sponsorship Target
When you sign-up to take part in this challenge Action Against Hunger will be there to help with fundraising by providing you with a welcome pack including fundraising guides, training tips and t-shirts for fundraising and a technical tee for the event itself.
