Your support is vital to our work. Your generosity and kindness allows us to help millions of people every year worldwide. Donating to such important work should be a positive experience. We understand that when you decide to give your hard-earned money to support our work you are putting your trust in us to use it in the most resourceful way possible.
In 2014 we are proud to say that 84p in each pound we raised was spent on our charitable activities. The remaining 16p is used to ensure we can continue to do this work, and drive down the cost of saving lives, in the future – including, but not exclusively, by investing in new ways to generate funds for our work.
Every year we invest some money in fundraising – some of that money is spent to raise more income that year and some is invested in ways of fundraising which will provide income in years to come.
We place the highest importance on fundraising standards and transparency. We are a member of the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB), we publish our externally audited annual accounts on our website, and as a registered charity we are regulated by the Charity Commission.
To ensure we can continue to save as many lives as possible, we keep our headquarter costs as low as we can, from staffing through to premises. And we do all we can to ensure that fundraisers, volunteers and fundraising contractors working with us to raise funds comply with the FRSB’s Code of Fundraising.
Every pound we raise makes a difference to people’s lives worldwide. The more money we raise each year, the more children's lives we can save. In 2013, we supported nine million people on a global level – that grew to 13.6 million in 2014. That is because of people like you.
Thanks to the incredible support from the UK food industry we are also able to provide exceptional value on a significant proportion of our fundraising and events because the amount of time, food and other services they donate for free.
We always welcome your feedback. If you have any comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us by calling 020 8 853 7571 or emailing us.
