About Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is one of the largest cycling sportives in the country and is rare opportunity to take on this famous route just hours before the world's best cyclists do the same.

About the race

Miles 0-20: Start at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London between 5:30-9am before setting out through the heart of London passing Tower of London with no traffic and no need to stop at traffic lights. You'll reach the 20 mile marker at Richmond Park, where you will meet your first hill of the day.

Miles 20-50: After leaving Richmond Park, you pass Hampton Court Palace and make your way out of southwest London into the Surrey Hills – leaving behind the streets and entering the rolling countryside. The 50 mile mark is at the top of the first challenging hill climb of the race, Newlands Corner, and the view from the top is the reward for your hardwork. Carry on pedalling or stop off at the hub.

Miles 50-70: This section of the race tackles two famous Surrey Hills climbs, Leith Hill and Box Hill.

Miles 70-100: The last third of the race will fly by! You'll leave behind the Surrey countryside and head back into southwest London. Crowds of supporters will meet you here to give you that much needed boost before you  face the last climb of the day in Wimbledon Village. You'll then start the descent from Wimbledon into Putney, and before you know it you'll be cycling by Millbank and the Houses of Parliament, then passing Trafalgar Square again before a sprint-finish in front of Buckingham Palace.

In numbers

Distance: 100 miles (160.9 kilometres)

Total climbing: 4,325 ft (1,318 metres)

Cyclists: 25,000 other riders.

Support on the day

The organisers of the ride go all out to make sure you have the support you need on the day. There are seven drinking stations with free drinking water, toilets and mechanic support. Four large hubs will be set up at each 25-mile interval, which will have the same conveniences and food. There will also be lots of local cafes and community clubs open to support you, so you can support them too!
