Too Many Critics Manchester

We are thrilled to announce that, in association with Northern Restaurant and Bar 2017, our Too Many Critics event will be returning to Manchester on Monday 20th March 2017. This year’s event will be held at the stunning Ibérica. Located in the heart of Spinningfields, Ibérica offers authentic Spanish gastronomy with a modern twist.

Some of the country’s top restaurant critics and food writers will experience life on the other side of the pass – donning chef whites to prepare an exclusive dinner to be judged by some of the North’s finest chefs and restaurateurs.

This year, guests will be welcomed with a Champagne Taittinger reception, before the critics are put through their paces to create some traditional tapas dishes from Patatas bravas to grilled Ibérico pork. This year’s critics include Bill Knott (The FT’s How to Spend It), Tim Hayward (Financial Times), Joe Warwick (Where Chefs Eat), Mark ‘Gordo’ Garner (Manchester Confidential), Emily Heward (Manchester Evening News) and Ruth Allan (Manchester Wire).

Guests will then have the opportunity to bid on a host of exclusive and money-can’t-buy experiences and items in our Live and Silent Auctions.

Tickets are available now. Click here to purchase your tickets.

All funds raised on the night will go towards our work to provide malnourished children with healthier futures in nearly 50 countries worldwide.

Too Many Critics 2016

Last year’s event saw the critics tackling the Brazilian Rodizio grill at Fazenda Manchester. This year, the critics will be challenged at a whole new level as they take on Spanish tapas at Ibérica. Watch our video from last year to get a feel for the night:

Located in the heart of Spinningfields, Ibérica offers authentic Spanish gastronomy with a modern twist. From a tapas menu, including classics such as croquetas de jamón to signature tapas like Pitu chicken rice to a menu to nibble like a true Spaniard at the bar, Ibérica’s focus is bringing quality and authentic Spanish produce to everyone in Manchester. A buzzy bar where you can enjoy their large selection of carefully selected wines and two outside terraces open all year round makes it the perfect setting for an authentic Spanish experience.

Northern Restaurant & Bar is the largest hospitality exhibition for the North of England. NRB will host 300 exhibitors, 65 live demos and over 7,500 trade-only visitors.
