Too Many Critics

Time: 6.00pm - 11:30pm

Address: Dishoom, 32 Bridge St, Manchester, M3 3BT.

We are thrilled to announce that in association with Northern Restaurant & Bar 2019, Action Against Hunger is once again bringing it's Too Many Critics event to Manchester on 18th March 2019, where a team of restaurant critics and food writers will swap their pens for pans to create a delicious feast for guests. Hosted by food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden (BBC Radio 2), this year's event will be held at Dishoom, one of Manchester's newest and most eagerly anticipated restaurants.

Alongside its new Manchester café in the historic former Freemasons Hall on Bridge Street, Dishoom has five cafés in London and one in Edinburgh. Like Bombay’s old Irani cafés, Dishoom breaks down barriers: in its restaurants, which employ and serve people from all walks of life, at its events, and through charity (donating a meal for every meal). Dishoom serves a lovingly curated menu of Bombay comfort food and award-winning drinks in beautiful restaurants with unique stories. Everything Dishoom does shares its love for Bombay’s culture, heritage and people, and everyone is welcomed with warmth.

Cooking up a storm in the kitchen will be Emily Heward (Manchester Evening News), Ruth Allan (Manchester Wire), Matt White (Fodder, I Love Manchester, and XS Manchester), Louise Rhind-Tutt (I Love Manchester), Neil Sowerby (Taste of Manchester), Bill Knott (The FT's How To Spend It, and Restaurant Magazine), Joe Warwick (author of 'Where Chefs Eat'), and Simon Binns (LADbible).

This year, guests will be welcomed with a Champagne Taittinger reception, before the critics are challenged to add their own special twist to one of Dishoom's mouthwatering dishes, donning chef whites to prepare an exclusive 3-course meal, which will be judged by some of the North-West's most renowned chefs and restauranteurs. Throughout the night, guests will also have the opportunity to bid on a host of exclusive items and money-can't-buy experiences in the live and silent auctions.

Tickets for this not-to-be-missed event are £75, and all funds raised will go directly towards supporting Action Against Hunger's work to end child hunger in nearly 50 countries around the world.
