Too Many Critics Manchester

We are thrilled to announce that, in association with Northern Restaurant and Bar 2016, our Too Many Critics event will be returning to Manchester on the 14th March 2016. Hosted by food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden (BBC Radio 2), this year’s event will be held at Fazenda, a unique Brazilian restaurant in the heart of Manchester which awes customers with quality, delicious food and excellent service, while keeping the Brazilian culinary tradition alive.

Some of the country’s top restaurant critics will experience life on the other side of the pass – donning chef whites to prepare an exclusive dinner and be judged by some of the North’s finest chefs and restauranteurs.

This year, guests will be welcomed with a Champagne Taittinger reception, before the critics are put through their paces to devise their own marinade for a cut of meat, which they’ll then carve ‘pasador’ style for guests. This year’s critics include Bill Knott (The FT’s How to Spend It), Mark ‘Gordo’ Garner (Manchester Confidential), Ruth Allan (Manchester Wire) and Andy Cronshaw (Manchester Evening News).

Guests will then have the opportunity to bid on a host of exclusive and money-can’t-buy experiences and items in our Live and Silent Auctions.

Last year’s event saw the critics tackling steak at the newly opened Hawksmoor Manchester. This year, the critics will be challenged at a whole new level as they take on the Brazilian Rodizio grill! Watch our video:

Fazenda is a unique Brazilian rodizio bar and grill in the heart of Manchester. Since the early 19th Century, Gaúchos pierced large pieces of meat and slowly grilled them over open flamed pits. Fazenda want to keep this tradition alive. Their gaúcho chefs roast succulent cuts of meat in the way it has been done for centuries, preserving the individual taste of each tender cut.

Northern Restaurant & Bar is the largest trade exhibition for the Northern Hospitality Industry and will be celebrating its fifteenth year in 2016. It is the perfect event for industry professionals to see the best of the Northern hospitality industry. With such a variety of exhibitors to see, alongside demonstrations, competitions and sampling, Norther Restaurant & Bar provide all the current trends and news from the Northern hospitality industry.
