Famine is now imminent in Gaza.

Children are already dying of hunger and thirst. Bombarded daily with little or no healthcare available. And there’s no escape.

We’re one of the few humanitarian organisations still working in Gaza. Although aid has been blocked, thanks to our networks and 19 years of experience in Gaza, we’ve been able to continue our work. We’re doing everything we can to help people in dire need.

“I prefer to give the children food first. Then as a mother, I might not eat so I can feed my children. That’s just how life is now. That’s motherhood.”

The crisis in Gaza

  • 1 in 3

One-third of all children in northern Gaza are suffering from severe acute malnutrition – the most life-threatening form of hunger.

  • 245

In northern Gaza, Palestinians have been surviving on an average of 245 calories a day since January.

  • 1.7M

1.7 million people have been forced to leave their homes because of the conflict.

How is Action Against Hunger responding?

Since October, we’ve been able to reach over 916,000 people in Gaza so far. Our work has included:

  • distributing over 8 million litres of drinking water
  • building 30 toilet blocks and handwashing stations
  • supporting 200,000 women and girls through our water, sanitation and hygiene services
  • distributing food baskets to over 48,000 people – one food basket is enough to feed a family of 6 for 15 days
  • providing a cleaning service in shelters for people fleeing their homes

Your support is already making a difference. But we’re ready to achieve so much more. As soon as there is a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, we’ll be ready to scale up our emergency response. Any money raised will help us to deliver vital aid as quickly as possible.

“We’ve been working in Gaza for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like it. 80% of children have infectious diseases. 70% have diarrhoea. They don’t have enough food. Health services can’t function. It’s a perfect mix for malnutrition. This is just the beginning.”
