Since conflict erupted in South Sudan in December 2013, the humanitarian situation in the world's youngest country has deteriorated. More than 2 million people are facing severe food insecurity. Action Against Hunger is providing life-saving care to many, but there are many more who need our help.

More than a year of conflict has left a devastating mark on the world’s youngest country, plunging families into unimaginable chaos. Tens of thousands have been killed and nearly two million more have fled their homes in terror.

Half a million have escaped over the border, with many settling in Ethiopia, as well as Kenya, Sudan and Uganda. Many others are sheltering at makeshift camps in states that have so far escaped the worst of the fighting, such as Warrap and Northern Bahr el Ghazal, where we are supporting families.
