MASTERPIECES GALORE IN MANCHESTER
An opportunity to view and purchase masterful art, all for a good cause
Oct 18 2017
Our second Masterpiece Dinner will feature originals from internationally renowned and award-winning artists, as well as local grown talent.
On Wednesday 25th October Action Against Hunger will take over the Whitworth Gallery promenade for our own exhibition, with all pieces for sale in live and silent auctions on the night to raise money to end child hunger. The auction will see original works from Turner Award-winning Grayson Perry, alongside Royal Academy artists Eileen Cooper OBE, Cathie Pilkington, and Stephen Chambers – all of which are generously donated by Atelier Rose & Gray.
Manchester based contributors include the critically acclaimed Louise Giovanelli, Liz West, and Nicola Ellis, represented by Mark Devereux Projects, and a stunning sculpture from “one to watch” Tracey Eastham of the PAPER Gallery. One of our most exciting collaborations is with Islington Mill, a special lot combing a beautiful piece of work from founder Maurice Carlin with the opportunity to help shape the next ten years of art as a Temporary Custodian. From further afield we have beautiful pieces from Charming Baker, Christian Furr, the youngest artist ever invited to create a portrait of the Queen, and Amber Locke, who represents this event perfectly with her beautiful works based on fresh nutritious produce.
Our Secret Masterpiece series will present smaller works from emerging Manchester artists, giving our guests the opportunity to have early works from future stars.
This beautiful evening will feature more than art, with an incredible four-course meal for our guests from Phil Howard (Elystan Street), Paul Heathcote, Michael Wignall (Gidleigh Park), and Lisa Goodwin-Allen (Northcote).
We are so grateful to all of the contributors supporting this event. This year, every single pound raised at Masterpiece Dinner will be doubled by the UK Government. Donations will go twice as far in helping to change lives for the better. All matched funds will go towards providing mothers and children in Senegal with the nutrition and support they need to be healthy as part of #healthymumshealthykids.
