Action Against Hunger were delighted to be chosen as the charity partner for this year’s Manchester Food and Drink Festival Gala Dinner and Awards. Hosted in Manchester Cathedral, the event celebrated the region’s best regarded restaurants and chefs.
Thanks to the fantastic prizes donated from Manchester restaurants, we raised £3,000 in the charity raffle. Prizes included meals out at top restaurants in Manchester including Hawksmoor, Manchester House, Rosylee and Sam’s Chophouse. We were grateful to be able to offer many other wonderful prizes including wine tasting at Veeno, exclusive cocktails at Tattu and a visit to The Midland Spa.
Senior restaurant campaign officer, Caroline Dyer, spoke to the 300 attendees at the awards about Action Against Hunger’s work. Action Against Hunger has been working with Manchester based restaurants and chefs for the past 18 months. We have successfully brought our flagship event, Too Many Critics , from London to the north, an event which places the critics in the kitchen and the chefs at the dining tables.
In collaboration with our headline sponsor, Deliveroo, Action Against Hunger organised the official after party for the awards at Pho Restaurant. Pho hosted a fantastic evening of food and drink, music and food for attendees of the awards.
Guests were served drinks kindly donated from our sponsors: wine from Boutinot, Manchester Pale Ale from J.W. Lees and Saigon beer from Fusian. Manchester bar Almost Famous served delicious ice cream. Restaurant take-away service, Deliveroo, provided games and a photo booth for guests to enjoy. Thank you to Mojos bar for putting together a brilliant music playlist for the party.
Thank you to everyone who supported Action Against Hunger to create a fun, memorable evening and raise valuable funds.
