Join Love Food Give Food 2017

With the sun (mostly) shining, it must be that time of year when restaurants across the UK sign up to join the Love Food Give Food campaign in September and October, to raise funds for our life-saving work.

The campaign sees hundreds of restaurants unite by adding £1 to customers' bills, or a small donation on a best-selling dish. Last year, with the help of our fantastic supporters and their customers, we raised over £470,000 to help malnourished children grow up healthy and happy.

“For me as someone who works in food, the idea that there are people who don’t have food in their lives is very stark. The idea that there are innocent children who, at the very beginning of their lives, are at the risk of life threatening malnutrition is one of the worst things that is present in our current world. I find that with Action Against Hunger, I’m reminded of our common humanity and that there are people for whom sharing food with each other is a primary aim in their day to day living.”

Getting restaurants involved with Love Food Give Food

Last week some of our wonderful supporters called upon their friends and peers to ask them to support Action Against Hunger and take part in the Love Food Give Food campaign this year. We have an incredible community of enthusiastic and dedicated fundraisers and couldn’t think of a better way for them to help us to reach more people, than by picking up the phone and spreading word of what Action Against Hunger does and how individuals and restaurants can get involved.

We had a fantastic response with restaurants across the UK jumping at the chance to get involved. We would like to say a huge thank you to our supporters for giving up their time and of course expertly modelling the Action Against Hunger brand...

“It gives us so much pleasure to get creative and put on fundraising events at Menagerie throughout the year. The biggest fundraiser is the Love Food Give Food campaign which is so simple to get involved with, and our team and customers enjoy taking part. Last year we raised £2,000 and this year we are determined to raise even more. On Wednesday I’m going to be focusing on calling friends that work in restaurants in Chester. There is a great food scene over there and I know they will want to be involved with this great charity!”

“I can’t change the world but I do like working with people who will work to change it on my behalf. When I go away on the ambassador challenges, the belief that Action Against Hunger are the right people to do this with is reinforced. The rigour, the compassion, the professionalism and diligence all combine to really give me faith that these problems can be dealt with and can be solved.”
