The evening saw guests bidding on unique auction lots while enjoying food from some of Britain’s best chefs including Francesco Mazzei (Sartoria), Hamish Brown (ROKA), Jack Stein (The Seafood Restaurant), James Lowe (Lyle's), Jose Pizarro (Pizarro Restaurant), Lee Tiernan (Black Axe Mangal), Neil Rankin (Tender), Nieves Barragán Mohacho (Barrafina), Nuno Mendes (Chiltern Firehouse & Taberna de Mercado), Robin Gill (The Dairy), and Shaun Searley (Quality Chop House). See their images below.

They were joined by the capital’s most talented street food traders including Bad Brownie, B.O.B’s Lobster, Born and Raised, Breddos Tacos, Meat Hook & Prawnography, Rola Wala, Scoopsy Daisy, Shake Shack, Smokestak, Yum Bun for an evening of superb food, great drinks and lots and lots of auction lots.

Hosted by Gary Lineker and Tim Hayward, the party saw all chefs, traders and the venue itself – Street Feast’s Hawker House - donating their time and resources free of charge, raising a staggering £218k for our work worldwide.

What an incredible evening everyone has had here, all for a great cause,” said Gary Linker about this year’s biggest indoor street food party. “Action Against Hunger helps children all around the world who may not know where their next meal is coming from. It is fantastic to see top chefs and people who really care about food come together to raise funds for the charity’s work.”

We couldn’t agree more; thanks for your support, Gary!

Guests bid generously on silent auction lots and during a live auction held under the guidance of Christie’s and charity auctioneer Tom Best.

It’s been a wonderful event with so many people coming together to enjoy extraordinary food while raising money for a fantastic cause,” said Francesco Mazzei.  And Jose Pizarro added: “I love Action Against Hunger and everything they do.To be with so many of my friends whilst helping make a difference and having a great time too – it’s amazing.

For Ben Maschler, co-founder of Auction Against Hunger and long-term Action Against Hunger ambassador, the support that we’ve had from the restaurant industry to make the event happen has been unbelievable. “I’ve seen first-hand how Action Against Hunger transforms lives.”

The Draper’s Arms Nick Gibson perhaps summed up the evening best when he said: “We here tonight must be just about the luckiest people who’ve ever lived. These chefs are so brilliant as they spend their living waking days thinking about food all day. But there are others who also think about food every day because they do not have enough food – parents who cannot feed their children. Our common humanity means that we have to do something about that.”

On behalf of the Action Against Hunger team, a huge thank you to all guests and all those who supported our 2016 Auction Against Hunger. The incredible funds raised last night will make a huge difference, helping to provide children with the right nutrition they need to survive, thrive and fulfil their dreams. Thank you!
