Have you got what it takes to join Gordon Ramsay’s team?
Action Against Hunger is thrilled to be chosen as one of the benefiting organisations of the Gordon Ramsay Foundation
Jan 11 2015
We’re absolutely delighted to have been selected as one of the benefiting organisations of The Gordon Ramsay Foundation, set up by Gordon and Tana Ramsay to make a meaningful difference to charitable causes close to them.
They have set the ambitious target of raising £2 million over two years and will launch a number of initiatives to achieve this goal. We’re incredibly excited about being a part of this foundation as the funds that will be donated to Action Against Hunger will make a big difference to children and their families around the world.
Our teams in over 40 countries are working to help turn the tide of malnutrition by providing children with the nutrition they need to grow, develop and build their own futures. Children like Prahlad Ramesh, 21 months, who received treatment for malnutrition at a local health centre in India supported by Action Against Hunger. Prahlad was severely malnourished, weighing just 4.4kg, when he first arrived at a nutritional rehabilitation centre for life-saving treatment. For 24 days he received the care and treatment he needed to regain his strength. Less than a month later, Prahlad weighed 5.4kg and was well on the road to recovery. He was laughing again, and was discharged from the health centre.
The funds raised by Gordon and Tana’s foundation will help us save more lives like Prahlad’s whilst helping provide families with sustainable solutions to hunger.
The first fundraising initiative for the foundation is the GR100, a fundraising club led by Gordon Ramsay with access to 100 places in the new IRONMAN 70.3® Staffordshire 2015, taking place on 14 June 2015. Gordon is looking for 100 motivated individuals to join the team for this exciting event and raise funds for the beneficiary organisations, including Action Against Hunger.
Members of this unique club will not only gain a sought after place in the race, amazing branded kit, including a Huub wetsuit, but also training days with top experts, meetings with triathlon legends and of course the opportunity to join Gordon as they undertake ‘one of the flattest, fastest triathlons on the sporting calendar for 2015’. This is an incredible opportunity for ambitious and motivated sport enthusiasts and there are still a few places left, so if you feel you have what it takes then sign up here.
This is just the first of many exciting opportunities from the foundation so watch this space for the next initiative you can get involved with. We have been supported by the restaurant industry for 17 years and this partnership strengthens those ties and demonstrates the commitment of chefs and restaurateurs to support Action Against Hunger’s life-saving work around the world.
Thank you to Tana and Gordon for choosing us to be a part of this amazing initiative!
