Next week, some of the UK’s top chefs will be taking on the challenge of becoming the best Hot Dog Chef of 2017.

Hot dog and champagne restaurant Bubbledogs is throwing a birthday party with a twist at Borough Market on 4th September to celebrate their 5th birthday. Instead of eating jelly and ice cream and taking home party bags filled with sweets, guest chefs will be put to the test to create inventive and delicious hot dogs for a panel of judges.

This is the second year that Bubbledogs owners James Knappett and Sandia Chang have held the event, with another incredible line-up featuring Tom Kerridge from The Hand and Flowers, Shake Shack’s Mark Rosati, former Kitty Fisher’s head chef, Tomos Parry, Shaun Searley from the Quality Chop House, Magnus Reid of Legs, Bonny Porter of Balls & Company and James Knappett himself.

“It’s a lot of fun to see the banter, camaraderie and competition between the chefs,” says Sandia, “and it is great to see the creativity of the chefs come through.”

The chefs will be judged by a tough panel who have the hard task of tasting all their creations, including Jason Atherton, Richard Vines, and Richard Turner, with Joe Warwick compering for the evening.

James and Sandia have supported Action Against Hunger for many years and last year, James took part in our Nepal trek with a team of London’s chefs, restauranteurs and hospitality industry experts. Along with the rest of the team, James completed a challenging 6-day trek through the Himalayas, raising an incredible total of £116,000 for our work worldwide.

Do you want the chance to see what hot dog inventions these chefs come up with and taste them for yourself? Get your tickets for the Bubbledogs Hot Dog Challenge here. Tickets are £35 and include a welcome drink, canapes and hot dog tasters from each of the chef entries.

We'll also have a fun photo booth on the night generously provided by Momentous Photo Booth. Make sure to get your tickets so you don't miss out on all the fun!

All profits will be split between Action Against Hunger and the Red Cross UK Solidarity Fund.
