On Tuesday 27th March, Blacklock City celebrated their first birthday! Rather than eating lots of cake and partying the night away (perhaps they did that too…), they donated every pound spent in the restaurant on that day to Action Against Hunger, raising over £8,500.

Blacklock have supported our work around the world for a number of years, and their teams go above and beyond to raise funds to help children survive malnutrition, and grow up strong and healthy. Alongside Blacklock's Soho site taking part in our flagship fundraising campaign, Love Food Give Food since 2015 and City since they opened last year, they have donated many auction prizes to our events.

Their staff have pushed their commitment to the cause, with teams from both restaurants running over 12 miles and tackling multiple muddy obstacles as part of Tough Mudder last year.

Many of their team have also volunteered their time and expertise as part of our front of house staff at our pop-up restaurants at Taste of London. With their well honed service skills, we have been able to serve many more customers, and in turn raise more money for our work. The money they have raised will help us to enable communities to provide for themselves, see their children grow up strong and find long-term, effective solutions to hunger.

We would like to wish Blacklock City a very Happy Birthday and say a huge thank you to their dedicated staff. We think you're all incredible.
