A devastating earthquake has struck Nepal, killing thousands of people. Our teams in Nepal have launched an emergency response to help survivors. Additional logistics, water, sanitation, mental health and emergency experts have now joined our existing team in the country. But the situation is critical and time is of the essence. Saul Guerrero on the humanitarian situation in Nepal.  

The death toll from Saturday's earthquake has risen to more than 5,057 people and the fate of people living in remote villages remains unclear. Four days after the earthquake, thousands of survivors continue to sleep outdoors, in the rain and in the cold.
