2017 – Our best Taste of London year ever!

Festive fundraising at Taste of London
2017 is the 11th year that Action Against Hunger has partnered with Taste of London as their official charity partner, and it has proven to be our best year yet! We joined thousands of Londoners getting into the Christmas spirit at the wonderful Tobacco Dock for the second Taste of London festival of the year, and what a week it was…
Surrounded by Christmas trees and crowds of people all getting into the festive spirit, Action Against Hunger raised funds through our 5-star Doughnut restaurant, serving 5 delicious doughnuts designed for us by 5 of the UK’s best chefs. We are thrilled to have collaborated with Peter Gordon (The Providores), Anna Hansen (The Modern Pantry), Cyrus Todiwala (Café Spice Namaste), Dan Doherty (Duck & Waffle), and Alyn Williams (Alyn Williams at The Westbury) who each designed a mouth-watering doughnut especially for Taste of London. Some were sweet, some were savoury, but all were delicious! For every doughnut sold, all proceeds went to our work helping malnourished children grow up strong and healthy.
Alongside the doughnuts, Action Against Hunger also raised money by selling raffle tickets, running a cloakroom, and partnering with The Gourmet Society to encourage people to donate by offering free Gourmet Society membership, all in all this brought in over £20,000! Combined with our record-breaking summer festival, this means that in 2017 Action Against Hunger has raised over £60,000 due to the collaboration with Taste of London! And what’s more, over £8,000 extra will be donated by the UK Government, due to their Aid Match scheme – what a result!
