Carluccio’s, our biggest supporter from the food industry, have raised over £350,000 since naming Action Against Hunger as their charity of choice in 2007. They raised this huge sum of money by donating 50p every time someone orders their best-selling Penne Giardiniera dish.
Funds raised by Carluccio’s are used partly to help Action Against Hunger’s work in Monrovia, Liberia, where more than 12,500 children under the age of 5 are at risk of acute malnutrition. In 2008 Simon Kossoff, Managing Director, visited the project to see for himself the impact this money is having.
“I always wanted the team at Carluccio’s to work together on something that was outside the activity of the company and the connection between the privilege of dining out and supporting a charity focused on helping the hungry is an undeniable one.”

Corporate Social Responsibility of the Year – Highly Commended Award
The direct and significant impact that the Carluccio’s partnership with Action Against Hunger has had on communities was officially recognised at the Charity Times Awards in September 2009. The partnership has provided Carluccio’s with an excellent platform for increasing its corporate social responsibility, motivating staff, enhancing team work and providing personal development.
