Module 1: The basics of nutrition / Version 1

This module looks at the human nutritional status, which is conditioned essentially by its relationship with its physical, biological and cultural environment. Only an ecological approach can be allowed today to understand the respective place of the many integrated determinants in the development of nutritional problems.

Module 1: The basics of nutrition / Version 1

Considering the comprehensive outline of the factors to be looked at in the context of nutritional status, dietary requirements and foods in general, this manual not only looks at the different types of malnutrition, but also its measurement and causes. Furthermore, the determining factors of nutritional status, such as food security, public health and social environment are being analysed.
