Early Warning System
A system for collecting, organising and analysing information relevant to food availability and accessibility, in order to provide timely notice when a food crisis threatens and thus elicit an appropriate response.
Epidemiological surveillance
In the health structures of an area, health data regarding
epidemics (cholera, measles, meningitis,..) are regularly collected and analysed to detect early the occurrence of such diseases.
Evaluation
Periodic assessment of a project (at mid-term and upon completion). It assesses the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of the project in relation to its objectives.
Exit strategy / phasing out
A strategy outlining the steps to gradually end a project or close a mission. It can involve stopping the activities completely or handing over to another agency (other NGO, local authorities, international organisation, etc.).
