Join the charitable initiative of choice for the restaurant industry

Calling all restaurants, gastro pubs, cafes and eateries. We have partnered with the restaurant industry for over 17 years. By joining us you will be part of a fantastic nationwide network of people who have a passion for good food and want to see a world without hunger.

Hundreds of restaurants around the UK support Action Against Hunger by raising funds and awareness in the following ways:

1. Signing up to our Love Food Give Food campaign

During September and October every year you can join hundreds of restaurants, cafes and pubs by simply add a discretionary £1 donation to table bills or a small donation from a popular dish, which goes directly to Action Against Hunger. It costs restaurants nothing to take part in Love Food Give Food and is extremely simple to implement.

We supply your restaurant with a fundraising pack which includes small table cards that explain the campaign to your customers. In return for kindly hosting this fundraiser, you will be part of a national and regional online media campaign encouraging consumers to eat out at participating restaurants; both by our online directory and a free listing on Opentable.

The campaign is supported by restaurants such as Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles, Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Jason Atherton’s Pollen Street Social, Angela Hartnett’s Murano, MEATliquor and Roka to groups including Hawksmoor, Pho, ETM Group and D&D London.

Watch DJ BBQ get to grips with the campaign as he talks to supporting restaurants Phil Howard (The Square), Cyrus Todiwala (Café Spice Namaste) and Jane Alty (Begging Bowl):

2. Year round donation on a dish

Restaurants add a small donation to a best-selling dish on their menu year round to raise funds. Current supporters range from Carluccio’s raising more than £1.2 million to date by donating 50p from each sale of their popular Penne Giardiniera dish to Hawksmoor adding 50p to their dessert of the month.

3. Host a one off event or special promotion

Showcase your restaurant in a way your customers may not have experienced before; helping you engage with new customers and gain positive publicity. Past examples include:
The Great British Shake Sale - Shake Shack holds a month long promotion each year where customers are invited to donate £2 to Action Against Hunger and in return receive a voucher for a milkshake on their next visit.

Princess Victoria Pork Pie Competition - The Princess Victoria hosted a competition inviting 10 chefs from gastropubs to submit a pork pie to be judged by a panel of critics and donated ticket sales.

Love Food Give Food is a simple, rewarding campaign and your support will help to provide malnourished children with the nutrition they need to grow, learn and develop, and provide families with sustainable solutions to hunger.”

We have been supporting Action Against Hunger for about six years now, since we started Hawksmoor. I am lucky enough to spend my life around food and drink and to make a living out of what I love, so it feels really appropriate for me to support their work. If you have a restaurant and are able to support such a great cause as Action Against Hunger then please do get involved!
Huw Gott, Hawksmoor
