29 June 2011 - The ‘Masterchef’ of the food blogging world is back! Nom Nom Nom raised almost £1,000 for Action Against Hunger in 2010 and now in its fourth year it looks set to be bigger than ever.

Nom Nom Nom is a unique competition, which sees food bloggers, photographers and writers battle it out in a professional kitchen with their culinary results judged by chefs, food writers and critics. This year’s judges include the deputy editor of delicious magazine, Susan Low, food writer Julia Parsons, who won the Nom Nom Nom competition in 2008, and Head Chef of Hereford Road restaurant, Tom Pemberton.
A special raffle will take place at the event in aid of Action Against Hunger’s life-saving programmes around the world.
Nom Nom Nom organiser, Mecca Ibrahim, said: "We're really looking forward to the 4th Annual Nom Nom Nom as this year, in addition to the great food and kitchen appliance prizes on offer, the winners of the cook-off will have their dishes served in Rosalind's Kitchen in London's West End. The competition has always been a chance for bloggers to put their money where their "mouse" is, by seeing how they would cope with the challenge of cooking in a professional kitchen. Now the winning teams will be able to see their food flying off the counters of a small yet beautiful take-out cafe whose customers include busy office workers & tourists.
“Supporting Action Against Hunger always remains a key part of the contest and this year in addition to the online raffle, we'll be having a physical raffle on the day itself. So while the winners are having lunch and patiently waiting the judges verdict, we'll be entertaining them with a fun raffle. In this way we hope even more funds can be raised.
“Nom Nom Nom celebrates good food and having fun, but we're always acutely aware that so many people cannot choose what to eat, or even have fresh supplies of water. Without bringing people down, we want to highlight Action Against Hunger’s work and show what donations really mean to malnourished people around the world."
Action Against Hunger’s Head of Events and Community Fundraising, Caroline Crowther, said: “We are thrilled that Nom Nom Nom has returned for its fourth year and has yet again chosen to support Action Against Hunger. It is always such a fun event which puts food bloggers in the position of a chef for a change! Our Love Food Give Food campaign is all about taking peoples passion for food and turning it into action against hunger and the participants at Nom Nom Nom really embrace this concept. We hope that all the wannabe chefs have a brilliant time in the kitchen and raise as much as possible to help us fight child malnutrition.”
