Jude's Ice Cream supports Action Against Hunger

Action Against Hunger is thrilled to have the support of Jude’s Ice Cream in 2012.  As a family business that strives to have a positive impact on both its local community and around the globe, Jude’s is a perfect fit for Action Against Hunger and our 'Love Food, Give Food' campaign.  Jude's is passionate about making the tastiest ice cream and sorbets, using the finest local and natural ingredients in their range of Seasonal Specials from Strawberry Tease to Honeycomb Crunch. 

If this wasn’t enough, Jude’s is a great corporate citizen, donating 10% of profits each year to charity and Action Against Hunger is delighted that as part of this, Jude’s has chosen to support our life-saving programmes. Here a member of the Jude's family, Katharine, talks about the partnership:

Why did Jude’s Ice Cream choose to support Action Against Hunger and its Love Food Give Food campaign?

We chose to support Action Against Hunger because we love what they are doing. The vision of a world without hunger is huge, ambitious and a worthwhile one that we want to be part of. We like that Action Against Hunger not only implements short term emergency solutions but also are committed to making long lasting and sustainable change through their various projects eg. providing a hand pump for sustainable access to safe drinking water.

 
Do you think the UK food industry does enough to support people with limited access to food around the world?

There is always more that we can do, so I guess the answer is no. Until there is no hunger in the world the answer will probably always be no! However over the ten years that we have been involved in the UK food industry we have seen significant change, with increased awareness with regards to the issues of a lack of food around the world. It is for each individual restaurant, business or person to work out how they can make a difference and charities such as Action Against Hunger help with that.
 

What does the future have in store for Jude’s?

Our vision for Jude's is the same as always; we want to make the best ice cream in the UK whilst making a positive impact on both our local community and further afield. We have loved the journey so far and hope that it continues!

What benefits does supporting Action Against Hunger bring to your business?

Most of all supporting Action Against Hunger allows us to do our small part to help eliminate hunger in the world. It is a privilege to think that we can do something to help hungry people around the world, even as we churn our ice cream! We hope that our involvement will also encourage other companies to support this type of work.
