Payroll giving is an excellent way for employees to be able to give a regular and reliable donation to Action Against Hunger directly from their gross salary. Each employee can benefit from immediate tax relief, which can be up to 40% on each donation (Source: Payroll Giving Centre).
As the money comes straight out of the staff members gross pay, if they give money tax-efficiently, they can increase their donations - at no extra cost - and it’s not just the charity that can benefit. For example, a monthly gift of £20 will cost a higher-rate taxpayer a mere £12 or £16 if they pay the basic rate of tax. Payroll giving is easy, and best of all, it costs you less.
Donations through payroll giving enable us to predict our budget and thus plan ahead on our programmes. If as an individual, you would like to make a regular payroll donation, just ask your employer’s payroll department if they run a scheme.
You can change or stop your monthly donation whenever you want by informing your payroll department. If they do not offer a scheme, you can still make a regular donation through direct debit.
