CHARITY OF THE YEAR PARTNERSHIP (April 2012 to March 2014)
Following a staff vote earlier this year, Bibendum, one of the UK’s leading independent wine merchants selling to all sectors of the UK trade, selected Action Against Hunger as their new charity partner.
To celebrate the start of the partnership, Bibendum generously sponsored all the wine at our Too Many Critics event, held at Hawksmoor Guildhall with critics including Charles Campion, Fay Maschler and Giles Coren cooking for guests including Pierre Koffmann, Jun Tanaka and Cyrus Todiwalla.
In addition to in-kind donations, Bibendum is supporting Action Against Hunger through employee fundraising. Staff have already organised a full calendar of fundraising activities for 2012 and into 2013, with a particular focus on sporting challenges. A team of sponsored runners from Bibendum are training for Action Against Hunger’s 10k in Regent’s Park on 19 September and some may go on to run the Virgin London Marathon in 2013 for Action Against Hunger. Bibendum gives all employees one day per year to volunteer for charity, and a number of staff are interested in donating their time to support the charity’s ‘Love Food Give Food’ initiatives, linking their business skills and knowledge to Action Against Hunger’s food related fundraising activities. We are very grateful for all of the different forms of support we are receiving from Bibendum.
