In recent years scientists and humanitarian organisations have improved the food products and methodology available to governments and humanitarian agencies that want to eradicate child malnutrition. As a champion for child rights and development the PM is in an excellent position to make sure that development funding is allocated to make new treatments available to put an end to child hunger and malnutrition.

Email Gordon Brown now and let him know child hunger is an issue that is important to you.

I believe that the UK Government is well placed to take a leading role in the fight against child hunger. You could do this by allocating £100 million of new funding to treat children suffering from life-threatening child hunger (severe acute malnutrition) in countries that the UK has already defined as having a high priority need for aid. I ask that the UK government makes this commitment in time to mark World Food Day 2009, with the view to delivering the allocated funding within a three-year period.
