Since its creation in 1995, Action Against Hunger UK has played a major role in ACF International’s worldwide fight against hunger.
Action Against Hunger UK supports ACF International’s field work through a wide-range of activities by collaborating closely and sharing human resources, logistics and technical capacity.
Our fundraising department collects vital funds for our worldwide programmes. In emergency situations, this enables our teams to address hunger and malnutrition by providing communities with access to food, water, medicine and other essential items. In the long-term, these donations enable our teams to help people and communities regain their autonomy and self-sufficiency.
Our Human Resources Department is responsible for recruiting qualified experts to work in our overseas programmes. Action Against Hunger is continuously recruiting professional and experienced experts that are personally committed to working towards our aim of ensuring that communities around the world have access to food and clean water.
Our research and advocacy department is responsible for identifying the causes of, responsibilities for and responses to food crises. Our findings and recommendations are used to inform and influence humanitarian practices and policies, enabling Action Against Hunger to enhance its own capacities, fine-tune programme effectiveness and influence external stakeholders.
Our local partnerships team is responsible for managing and steering ACF International’s work with local partners. We believe that our joint efforts with local partners have a stronger impact in helping those who are most in need and aim to help strengthen their capacities to become robust agents in eradicating hunger.
Our evaluations department ensures that our projects are evaluated externally on a regular basis to assess how effective we are in meeting communities’ needs. By evaluating our programmes on a regular basis we can learn from experience and from others, and see whether we are meeting the expectations of the communities with whom we work.
Our Communications Department provides up to date public information about our programmes and activities and raises awareness of humanitarian and hunger crises through the media.
